Don’t Look!

Because you won’t find it.

There are a few things you will not find on this blog.

First, there will be no pictures of herpes outbreaks.   Pictures of herpes online are hideous, inflammatory and downright gross.  If you have just been diagnosed with HSV, the last thing you need to see are any of those pictures, and I would advise you to avoid them.  I have had genital herpes for over 20 years and never OK, maybe once have I seen anything as bad as what you can find online in .23 seconds.   So relax.   And avoid the pics.

Second, you will not find any media images of people in a warm embrace, kissing or otherwise.   While herpes is a lifestyle issue, nobody on this blog is is going to manipulate you or your emotions.  There are far too many websites covering HSV that will use scare tactics and fear to try and get you to buy their products.  You will note that no products are for sale here on this blog!  Showing people kissing, hugging, walking on the beach is manipulative in that it leads you to believe that by buying this product, you too can walk happily on the beach.  Well, guess what?!  You can walk happily on any beach with a partner that does NOT carry the virus, without buying sham internet products.   Actually, for the record, you can do a lot more that beach walking and still reduce herpes transmission by almost 90%.   Good news.

Also, no information on this website that indicates a C-section is the best choice for herpes and pregnancy.   I am a firm believer in the whole vaginal birth thing and have two of my own despite carrying this virus for over 20 years.

Last but not least.  No cure for herpes.  If you are looking for that there are plenty of websites that will be happy to take your money (again, you will not I haven’t asked you for any).   One day there might be a vaccine but ladies, that will be too late for us.  And that’s ok.   Stick around.   We’re going to be just fine.  In fact, we already are.
