Herpes FAQ: Herpes Information

Genital Herpes FAQ:

There are many frequently asked questions about genital herpes.   I will attempt to answer most of them here with a series of recent posts on herpes.

Judging from the e-mails and comments I receive, the most important herpes information people are looking for are in regards to herpes treatment and the symptoms of outbreaks.   People also want to know if they will have a “normal life” with HSV2 and for women issues around herpes and pregnancy are very important.

As for symptoms of outbreaks you will find a tremendous information here at herpes outbreaks.

I have also posted several recent articles on issues related to women here at vaginal herpes.

If you are interested in issues regarding H and substance abuse I have posted to recent articles: herpes and coffee and herpes and smoking.

If you have recently been diagnosed with HSV2 and are feeling scared or confused it is vital that you seek out valuable, realistic helpful information on what is like to live with this virus.   I see far too much information on the internet that is inflammatory and downright scary.   You can have an absolutely normal and happy life with HSV2 and there is a growing abundance of stories on the Internet from both men and women living with HSV.  Please take the time to navigate through quality sites (most of them are the ones that are not trying to sell you something and using scare tactics to do so), as well as this blog which I have put a lot of time and energy into in order to dispel many of the myths about living with H.

OK, back to…

Herpes Information:

If you are having trouble saying, “I have H”, you can read all about it here at I have herpes.  I also have an interesting blog entry on exactly what I think of pictures of herpes on the Internet.

For treatment there is valuable information here at home remedies for herpes, as well as what I feel about visualization here at female symptoms treatment.

Well, that is probably enough to get you started and reading.   You are always welcome to e-mail or comment with any of your specific concerns or issues.  I am also very interested in hearing your stories about living with H, and any experiences you have with treatment, pregnancy, and even more, stories of people that are living with successful with HSV when their partner does not carry the virus.   This is my situation and I am very proud (and maybe even a little bit lucky) that after 10 years my husband does not have HSV2.   This is without Valtrex and without the use of condoms.  Our number one (and practically only) method of non-transmission is by me recognizing my symptoms early, and abstaining from all sexual activity (genital) until the outbreak is completely healed.

Be well!
