I was in an 11 year monogamous relationship. Had 3 wonderful children. We split up and after a year i finally decided to start seeing someone. We went to an std clinic and he was screened. For everything but herpes that is. All was negative. I didnt think about herpes because when i saw everything came back negative it never even crossed my mind. We slept together. It was once and brief. About two weeks later my hand started itching and after i scratched it i noticed little pimple like bumps. I then got sick with an upset stomach and a headache. Noticed the same bumps down there as well. Went to gyn and my fears were confirmed. Turns out he had herpes and from the way he spoke and was acting he been knew. My biggest fear and concern is that my outbreaks - ive had three since, are always on the top of my right hand. The same hand that massaged his private. I am scared i am gonna give it to my children because i use my hands everyday to take care of them. I cover it when bumps are present but what if it "SHEDS" virus when there are no bumps. I now see little rashes on my one year old. I pray thats not what it is. I am so distraught over this. I really dont know what to do.

I've been diagnosed with herpes one month ago and now i'm dealing with my second outbreak.

The first one was terrible and that's really an understatement. The first attack was situated everywhere in the vaginal area and on my buttocks. They kept me for four days in the hospital, because i couldn't go to the toilet because of all the open blisters. The pain was horrific, i couldn't walk because the blisters were moving against each other then.

But i coped with it, they gave me pills to stop the attack, but it was already too late. After two weeks, i healed and i hoped it wouldn't return, but now one month later it did.

This second outbreak is completely different: i have blisters in my vaginal opening, but they don't hurt, for which i'm grateful! Okey, they feel a bit sore, but i don't call that pain. It started sunday and now we're thursdaynight in belgium, and i started to take the pills on sunday. I can only use the pills one week, dokter said that and the box of pills says that too.

Tomorrow i will get some l lysine pills and the burow solution....
