Your Herpes Stories: Send Them To Me!

Herpes Stories | My Herpes Story This is a big fat shout out for any herpes stories that you may want to share.

The first thing that I can do is share my story which you can find here at My Herpes Story.  As many of you who read the blog on a regular basis know, I believe that the more we can support each other, the less we can make genital herpes allow us to feel afraid or ashamed.  There is nothing shameful about having H!

You can share and receive support by sending me your sad stories.  I receive way to many e-mails from readers who have contracted vaginal herpes from cheating husbands or boyfriends that they had trusted – sometimes for years!  Also, comments and e-mails from women that did not even know they carried the virus and accidentally passed it on to partner that had trusted them.   Everything happens for a reason (although sometimes I know this really sucks at the time..) and we can only do the best we can until we know better.   Chances are if you are reading this blog, you already have herpes, but if you don’t or if you have friends or sisters, make sure they ask their health care professional to test them for HSV at every annual check up.  They do not always routinely do this.

Good Herpes Stories?

I would also appreciate your happy stories.  We don’t read enough on the Internet about awesome chicks living happily with H.  It is possible.  Tell me how you were scared and thought you would never have the strength to tell a future partner but somehow you found the courage and how it all worked out.   I love stories about herpes and pregnancy as well.   Too many women receive advice from their Doctors that a mandatory C-section is recommended.   I don’t believe this to be true except in extreme circumstances.  You can read all about that here at genital herpes and pregnancy.

So I am here – Get writing!

hi, my name is alex. i am 35 weeks pregnant and today i was told i might have a herpes outbreak…this came as a shock because ive never had an abnormal pap. i am terrified of what this means…i know it could be a lot worse and its not a death sentence but im more worried about the stigma that comes with the virus…my boyfriend is by my side and is telling me not to worry and to just wait for the results…but i might as well face it…my ob has probably seen this a thousand times…so the test will probably come back positive…this site has really calmed me down and made me feel a lot better about the possible outcome…please send me an email if you have an encouraging word or if you want to share some wisdom…thanks

i have been with my bf of 8 months now and have been having unprotected sex with him but also had unprotected sex previously before him. i have notice a certain rash on him that’s white that could be a herpes outbreak. but now i have notice with my health i have a outbreak that deals with constantly itching, and also itching in my private area. itching from head to toe. i never in my life had an std. never until now. but now i’ve notice itching on hands, feet, overall everywhere. and this outbreak is killing me. but most likely now i think i had contracted herpes form my partner. (still together) i have notice i’m shaking,. forgetting things and etc. but i’m going to get tested very soon. i hope i can get through this situation that now has changed my life forever:(

I have been with my boyfriend for 8 months now and we’ve been having unprotected sex for the last 5 months. Last week, I had the most intense itch and burning in my genital area. I was so worried that I started to notice some red bumps. Every time I peed I had a stinging sensation..My mom decided that we needed to go to the doctor ASAP. They tested my urine sample and it turned out that I had a UTI. I told the doctor about my bumps and that it was painful to even sit. He had this worried look on his face which scared me. He did a pelvic exam and told me that I had genital herpes…my heart felt that it had dropped and fell out of my butt. It didn’t make any sense to me at all though. My boyfriend never had a visible outbreak on his genitalia, so why would this happen to me? I have never been so raged with anger. I didn’t want to believe him, I knew it couldn’t be true. But he sent me to LabCorp to get a blood test and have an STD scan. He told me he would call with the results in 48 hours. The wait was possibly the most terrifying 2 days of my life. Well, 2 1/2 days later I was getting dressed from my yoga class; I heard my phone vibrating and I knew it was my mom with the lab results, it turned out that I DID NOT have genital herpes!! I have never been so relieved in my life. I was negative on all of the STD’s possible. So point of my story is, always use protection!
