Home Remedies For Herpes

Herpes Remedy

Home Remedies Herpes There are many home remedies for herpes that you can use to both prevent outbreaks as well as ease the discomfort of existing outbreaks.

Immunity And Oil Of Oregano:

For the prevention of HSV2, I would highly recommend taking oil of oregano on a daily basis.  It can be very strong tasting and so I always mix mine with a bit of high quality juice.  Swish it around your mouth for a minute before swallowing, making special effort to have it sit under your tongue for a few moments where it has maximum absorption.   NEVER take it on it’s own without water or juice.  It can be extremely overpowering.   This remedy has worked extremely well for me for many years and also helps fight of colds, flu infections and can also prevent bacterial invasion.  Always keep a bottle on hand.

HSV2 And Vitamin D:

I can also not stress enough how important Vitamin D is in your home remedies for herpes medicine box.

It is so inexpensive and easy to take.   Research is coming out almost daily about how amazing this vitamin is for our immune system.  Fighting cancer, flu infections, bone and teeth support; you really cannot get enough of Vitamin D.  I am now taking 3000 iu per day as recommended by a recent study that founds this daily amount kept many safe from swine flu over the past flu season. I can only imagine what a daily dose of 3000 iu (international units) can do for a genital herpes infection.

Home Remedies For Herpes Relief:

During an active herpes outbreak it can be quite uncomfortable (or even painful) for several days during the peak of the outbreak.   Often the swelling, itching, and burning can be difficult to handle and manage your day to day activities.  You can mix a small amount of baking soda with water and apply it to the outbreak.  This will help with both swelling and itching.  Also, those who read my herpes blog on a regular basis know I am a huge fan of tea tree oil mixed with olive oil.

This combination is an excellent pain reducer and will actually numb the area for several hours.   This is a great remedy for vaginal or herpes yeast infections as well. The tannin in black tea is also excellent for pain reduction.  Cool off a black tea bag (the highest quality you can afford!) and apply it directly to the lesion for 10 – 20 minutes and you will notice a considerable difference almost immediately.

There are many home remedies for herpes relief that you probably already have in your kitchen or bathroom cupboards.   Please try and use these safe and natural remedies for herpes and avoid any of the more expensive and unproven methods you can find on the internet (ie: oxygen and/or DMSO – very dangerous and useless!).

Be well!

I tried baking soda – big mistake. The powder was course and irritated my skin further. The topical treatment that works best is lysine cream for cold sores. Apply it at night and by morning I usually feel reduced symptoms. If I apply it when itching starts, no bumps appear.

I also backtracked in my treatment because I was researching every single little thing I could to fight herpes. None of it was working all that well and I was getting frustrated, which, of course, made the situation worse. So, I thought, what causes herpes to be active? Answer: irritation to the nervous system.

I thought up the best neural protectors I knew of and decided to take my top choice, turmeric, daily. It’s a brain tonic, reduces systemic inflammation and soothes your nerves. I mixed a teaspoon in water with a few drops of stevia twice a day and drank it down. Symptoms cleared up completely until just before my period.

Right now (PMS time) I have only mild tingling and slight itching. No burning. I also mixed up a reishi mushroom tea and that seems to be helping as well. But I really think it’s about a calm nervous system and strong immune system for me – I generally suffer from anxiety disorder, a luxury I can’t afford any longer.

Mi biggest problem now is not the symptoms of herpes but the fact that I am single and most of my friends are coupled up. I am happy by myself but often feel lonesome and dating seems pretty pointless. I used to go out all the time just as a diversion, just to spend time with people. You never know. But now I see a cute guy in a store or walking down the street and I just duck my head and walk on by, thinking he wouldn’t want anything to do with me anyway. Especially when there are so many more beautiful, successful, DISEASE-FREE women out there to date.
