Herpes Remedy

There are many home remedies for herpes that you can use to both prevent outbreaks as well as ease the discomfort of existing outbreaks.

Immunity And Oil Of Oregano:

For the prevention of HSV2, I would highly recommend taking oil of oregano on a daily basis.  It can be very strong tasting and so I always mix mine with a bit of high quality juice.  Swish it around your mouth for a minute before swallowing, making special effort to have it sit under your tongue for a few moments where it has maximum absorption.   NEVER take it on it’s own without water or juice.  It can be extremely overpowering.   This remedy has worked extremely well for me for many years and also helps fight of colds, flu infections and can also prevent bacterial invasion.  Always keep a bottle on hand.

HSV2 And Vitamin D:

I can also not stress enough how important Vitamin D is as a home remedy for herpes.  It is so inexpensive and easy to take.   Research is coming out almost daily about how amazing this vitamin is for our immune system.  Fighting cancer, flu infections, bone and teeth support; you really cannot get enough of Vitamin D.  I am now taking 3000 iu per day as recommended by a recent study that founds this daily amount kept many safe from swine flu over the past flu season. I can only imagine what a daily dose of 3000 iu (international units) can do for a genital herpes infection.

Home Herpes Remedies For Relief:

During an active herpes outbreak it can be quite uncomfortable (or even painful) for several days during the peak of the outbreak.   Often the swelling, itching, and burning can be difficult to handle and manage your day to day activities.  You can mix a small amount of baking soda with water and apply it to the outbreak.  This will help with both swelling and itching.  Also, those who read my herpes blog on a regular basis know I am a huge fan of tea tree oil mixed with olive oil.  This combination is an excellent pain reducer and will actually numb the area for several hours.   This is a great remedy for vaginal or herpes yeast infections as well. The tannin in black tea is also excellent for pain reduction.  Cool off a black tea bag (the highest quality you can afford!) and apply it directly to the lesion for 10 – 20 minutes and you will notice a considerable difference almost immediately.

There are many home remedies for herpes relief that you probably already have in your kitchen or bathroom cupboards.   Please try and use these safe and natural remedies for herpes and avoid any of the more expensive and unproven methods you can find on the internet (ie: oxygen and/or DMSO – very dangerous and useless!).

Be well!
