Is there a new herpes treatment available?
I had previously written about beta 1,3-D glucan (seriously, could the name be any more from Star Wars?!) in blog post treatment for herpes but I wanted to provide an update because I was able to locate beta glucan but not where I expected it. Let’s not overcomplicate it: Beta Glucans are simply molecules of soluble fiber found in mushrooms, oats, barley and yeast. To recap:
Beta-1, 3-D Glucan (also called Beta Glucan) – a natural substance derived from the cell wall of baker’s yeast. This is a documented substance that when used regularly, allows the body’s immune system to work at maximum performance.
After searching several health food stores and receiving nothing but blank stares, I was finally able to find someone that advised that beta glucan is not always sold on its own but rather as a component of another product. It was there that I found Coldmune Pro (TM) by SISU which contains 250mg of beta 1,3/1,6 glucans from yeast. This product also contains 500mg of Vitamin C which is always great especially from such an awesome company as SISU which utilizes the Ester-C brand.
Further research has led me to several websites that discuss the differences between beta glucans from mushrooms, yeast, oats and barley. Finally, research is being done! It is important to note that while all beta glucans were found to have relative positive health benefits, it is the beta glucan from yeast that has been found to greatly enhance the immune system. So don’t rush out and buy the all new and improved and recommended barley beta glucan because it will do wonders for your diabetes but not so much for your vaginal herpes…
Yeast-derived Beta glucan has shown positive results on cholesterol and blood sugar challenged individuals as well as it has proven to be a powerful immune system support material. Yeast-derived Beta glucan is not a treatment for any disease or condition. It is an immunomodulator that has been shown to support immune system function.
New Treatment For Herpes?
I have been taking Coldmune Pro (TM) (wouldn’t it be great if they made it easy and called it: Herpmune Pro!) for over a month now and have been outbreak free for the entire time. That being said, I am also taking a few other natural herpes remedies which I will be blogging about over the next few weeks. I am not sure if this is going to be a great new treatment for herpes or not, but it’s low cost, good for me and worth the trouble of trying to find and giving it a shot. We can use all the inexpensive healthy options we can get in working to control our herpes outbreaks.
Personal note here:
Hey! I am in the process of writing an e-book on herpes. If you have anything you would like to see in the book or would like an advance peek (I’ll be seeking testimonials), please get to me through my contact page above. Thanks!

I just wanna say I love your blog. I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes 2 months ago. And instead of retreating to my room and never coming out i have been constantly been looking for new answers. So far Ive had 2 outbreaks, the last not as bad as the first. But doing as much research as i can Ive started using dynamiclear. I dont know if it will work because I used it late in the outbreak, but i was amazed to watch the sores turn blue. The serum is moderatly painful, feels like lightening bolts! But i havent knowticed much results. Ive been taking Llysine daily, and up to 3000mg per day during an outbreak. Tea tree oil has been wonderful at releaving the pain from the sores. I wanna try the natural treatments before i try Valtrex just because of the side effects. Also, Oxygen Therepy was something I recently discovered. A product called Cell Food that Im currently trying. But your wesite is very helpful!
Thanks Jennifer! I’m happy you are finding some value from my blog. Be careful with Dynamiclear because the virus lives in your body (at the base of your spine) and obviously Dynamiclear can not reach the root problem.
I just posted my favorite treatment here at http://theherpesblog.com/living-with-herpes Keep in touch with any new ideas you come up with. I would be interested in hearing about the Cell Food. I’m not too keen on the oxygen therapy for the same reasons of Dynamiclear. You might try to rub a bit of oil of oregano at the base of your spine and higher up the spine (obviously you will need some help with this!) I have been meaning to try this but so far with lysine, beta glucan, and a few other things, I’ve been outbreak free for quite awhile.
Thanks for writing!
Hi nanci, I’m not able to find the beta glucan product that you use but vitamin shoppe sells a beta glucan supplement for $7.49. 60 tablets 200mg 3x a day… Very inexpensive!
Cool. Just make sure that it is beta glucan from YEAST (or at least contains some from yeast). Beta glucan can be derived from oats and barley as well, and it’s the YEAST one that has been tested and proven successful with genital herpes. Thanks for the update!
