New Herpes Treatment: Update On Beta Glucan

Is there a new herpes treatment available?

I had previously written about beta 1,3-D glucan (seriously, could the name be any more from Star Wars?!) in blog post treatment for herpes but I wanted to provide an update because I was able to locate beta glucan but not where I expected it.  Let’s not overcomplicate it:  Beta Glucans are simply molecules of soluble fiber found in mushrooms, oats, barley and yeast.  To recap:

Beta-1, 3-D Glucan (also called Beta Glucan) – a natural substance derived from the cell wall of baker’s yeast.  This is a documented substance that when used regularly, allows the body’s immune system to work at maximum performance.

After searching several health food stores and receiving nothing but blank stares, I was finally able to find someone that advised that beta glucan is not always sold on its own but rather as a component of another product.  It was there that I found Coldmune Pro (TM) by SISU which contains 250mg of beta 1,3/1,6 glucans from yeast.   This product also contains 500mg of Vitamin C which is always great especially from such an awesome company as SISU which utilizes the Ester-C brand.

Further research has led me to several websites that discuss the differences between beta glucans from mushrooms, yeast, oats and barley.  Finally, research is being done!  It is important to note that while all beta glucans were found to have relative positive health benefits, it is the beta glucan from yeast that has been found to greatly enhance the immune system.  So don’t rush out and buy the all new and improved and recommended barley beta glucan because it will do wonders for your diabetes but not so much for your vaginal herpes

Yeast-derived Beta glucan has shown positive results on cholesterol and blood sugar challenged individuals as well as it has proven to be a powerful immune system support material. Yeast-derived Beta glucan is not a treatment for any disease or condition. It is an immunomodulator that has been shown to support immune system function.

New Treatment For Herpes?

I have been taking Coldmune Pro (TM) (wouldn’t it be great if they made it easy and called it:  Herpmune Pro!) for over a month now and have been outbreak free for the entire time.   That being said, I am also taking a few other natural herpes remedies which I will be blogging about over the next few weeks.  I am not sure if this is going to be a great new treatment for herpes or not, but it’s low cost, good for me and worth the trouble of trying to find and giving it a shot.    We can use all the inexpensive healthy options we can get in working to control our herpes outbreaks.

Personal note here:

Hey!  I am in the process of writing an e-book on herpes.  If you have anything you would like to see in the book or would like an advance peek (I’ll be seeking testimonials), please get to me through my contact page above.  Thanks!

Treatment for Herpes: Beta Glucan

I just read about the most amazing herpes treatment (and now I’m going to share it with you):

Beta-1, 3-D Glucan (also called Beta Glucan) – a natural substance derived from the cell wall of baker’s yeast.  This is a documented substance that when used regularly, allows the body’s immune system to work at maximum performance.

Now first thing is that Beta-1,3-D Glucan needs a PR rep.  Because what kind of name is that?!  But seriously, I have been doing quite a bit of reading and I’m not sure how this seemingly substance of awesomeness managed to elude me for over 20 years.  And it works as a treatment for genital herpes!

Why?

How?

What?

You ask.

Hold on, I’m getting to that.

From yeast, beta glucan is a complex type of carbohydrate molecule (just what I need, more carbs…) with immune stimulating properties.  Specifically, it stimulates the activity of macrophages, immune cells that destroy cellular debris, microorganisms, and abnormal cells by surrounding and digesting them.   Beta-1,3-Glucan is derived from the cell walls of baker’s yeast yet (very important) does not contain any yeast proteins.

OK, moving forward I am just going to call it plain old beta glucan.

Beta Glucan is useful for treating many fungal, bacterial and viral infections.  So if I am to understand correctly, it is quite possible that Beta G. can keep my genital herpes infection dormant by (this is my favorite part): surrounding and digesting it. Sounds like a treatment for herpes for me.

I could find little information on the web (with of course notable exception to all the people trying to sell it) and so I will do a little more investigation and attempt to get my hands on some quality product to take myself for a few months.   I am quite excited because my research did lead me to a few facts that beta glucan (in actual studies! circa 1970) killed tumor cells in rats, increased bone marrow production, and was a potent agent against aging.

Oh beta glucan….  Where have you been all my life?

Herpes Treatment 101

Herpes outbreaks are super normal and can be expected until you manage to get your herpes under control.  Which is more than possible.   The best time to start herpes treatment is at the first sign of symptoms.    At the very first sign of an outbreak – this can be muscle soreness (for me it is usually in one leg), minor cramping similar to PMS or ovulation, and/or minor flu like symptoms – you need to beef up the anti-viral medications.  And for the purpose of this post, I am not talking about the pharma meds (Famvir/Acycolvir/Valtrex).

My preferred regimen is Vitamin C, Zinc, Reishi Mushroom and Oil of Oregano.

Use 5 – 10 drops of Oil of Oregano in water or high quality juice (it would not hurt to add a few drops of echinacea with goldenseal), and take 1000mg Vitamin C, 10 – 20 mg of zinc, and 100mg red reishi mushroom 3X a day.   I cannot describe how gross this will taste (the oil of oregano and goldenseal combination itself could kill a small horse) but it will give your immune system a huge boost.   It will help if you can think of it as, ‘burning away the herpes’.   Inside and out.

It is quite possible that starting this treatment for herpes regimen early enough will prevent the herpes outbreak completely.   You should continue for up to 3 days even if symptoms disappear.

If and when you start to feel a tingling and burning sensation in a specific area in your vagina/vulva/anal area, you can start with topical herpes treatment.  My success is currently with alternating Vitamin E oil and tea tree oil (a few drops in olive oil) every few hours.   Make sure the vitamin E is natural source not synthetic (natural vitamin E is prefaced with d-alpha while synthetic is prefaced with dl-alpha), and buy the best tea tree oil you can afford.  Organic is best.

Should the virus actually appear in the form of small herpes bumps or blisters, discontinue the tea tree oil and apply only the Vitamin E every few hours.  This will speed up the healing in a massive way.

I know it’s hard but when you are in the early (first) stage of an outbreak, try not to freak out.  Excessive worrying will kick start your fight or flight response (your body will think it’s in danger) and you will flood your body with stress hormones.   Again, I know it’s hard.  Try to relax.  Take a bath, go for a walk (maybe not in that order) and get as much sleep as you can.

Don’t try to fight your herpes.   Focusing on the strength and power of your body, your immunity and your herpes treatment, will yield far greater success in controlling outbreaks than negative feelings toward your herpes virus.

And don’t forget:  You rock.  And you’re not alone.
